I enabled the plugin symlinking the file jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directoryFirefox (about:plugins) says I have java plugin 1.7.0_17 (vulnerable) and I have to update it. Tools->Add-ons->Plugins says the same.
If I check my java version using http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jspit says: 'Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 45).'
